L'Epresso High Tea

L'Espresso has always been that cafe I would crave for anytime, it's like I'm hooked onto their beautiful ambience, exquisite food display and its awesome food quality. However, having been there for my third time, I realised the slight reduction in the variety in comparison to my previous visits. But hey look! It's already my third time (and definitely not my last), so I guess that says enough. :)

Have I mentioned? Goodwood Park Hotel really has this colonial feel which I personally adore. Interior or exterior, it just brings you back to the times of the England Royal Family (like the movie, The Duchess). Beautiful. Sadly, as it was our first time taking pictures for this food blog, the pictures aren't exactly doing the food justice.

The colonial style with the view of the pool.

By the time we took this picture, the buffet was about to end, thus explains the mess. Overall, 4 different variety of cheese on biscuits and flavorful croissants (with salami, etc)

There were about 8 different types of sandwiches, ranging from the normal ham and cheese to the special fusion of egg mayo and truffle. Which I personally liked quite a bit. Skipped the rest of the sandwiches as bread are stomach fillers and a bad choice for buffets hah (Buffet Tips!)

The exquisite finger bite food, all was good, expecially the small toasted bread with fish and mayo with caviar, brillant combination. The little tartlet with colorful fillings was just plain gross, for me, and the parma ham with honeydew on bread were a little too salty.

Here are some deep-fried food for those who love them. The potato balls were good, very strong and nice seasoning. Tasted like the potato chips in mashed ball forms, not bad. All in all, not much variety and I felt this section was a little too oily for me, gave the rest of that a miss.

Here's the salad section, nothing special, just the normal romaine lettuce with sticks of carrots, celery and cucumber with cherry tomatoes. Condiments were also limited. However, if you paid attention to the background of the picture, you can see the smoked salmon!! That was the bomb! Not very often will you find smoked salmon in buffets and they are my all time favourite!! So, biased opinion here, 5 stars just for offering that. Hee ;)

Dessert time! The chocolate fondue with sticks of fruits and marshmallows. I know chocolate fondue has been a common thing in buffets now and this looks just as normal. BUT, what this picture isn't telling you is that this chocolate is so different from the rest I've tasted. It's not like the normal cadbury bars, rather it tasted a little like the Royce Potato Chips chocolate or even better!

We apologise for the not so appealing picture,as this was what was left by the time we got over to the dessert section. However, we managed to try the cheescake and the chocolate mousse cake. Rich, soft and flavorful, especially the cheesecake. Awesome!

The Bread Pudding was good! Sweet, soft, but just lacks that vanilla cream dressing for that wow factor. The next...Oh my, I really have to emphasize this, THE CREME BULEE IS THE BOMB. Okay repeat words, but its really the bomb for the dessert section. The slightly burnt caramel is so crispy complimenting the soft and rich custard! Ultimate greatness for people with a sweet tooth. Thumbs up for this seriously (Y) - msn emoticon HAHA

The rest of the desserts, again apologies for the picture as the desserts looked so miserable. They had quite a range for desserts which includes the ice-cream, chocolate fondue, creme bulee and this. Oh, the must try for this section would definitely be the mango and pomelo mousse! It was kinda runny, but was a splendid mix for the tangy sweet taste!

The last to end this post, the scones! I love scones personally, expecially with that strong buttery milky taste. And this has it all! They offered 3 different flavors such as the plain, the blueberry and the raisin. For me the plain one was the best, together with a spread of jam, awesome.

All in all, defintely I place I would return for a relaxed and filling afternoon. Loved it :)
